Technology
Semantic Technologies are increasingly playing an integral role in the overall infrastructure for both consumer and enterprise applications. As one of the first commercial semantic technology companies, Cerebra has deployed products across a broad set of use cases. Over the last 9 years we have leveraged our platform for;
- Provisioning of complex network configurations for telecom
- Analyzing terrorist networks for intelligence agencies
- Data mining to find new drug targets for pharma
- Streamlining integration and optimizing business processes for the general enterprise
- Optimizing content and advertising network delivery for online publishers
In the last year, we have been primarily focused on consumer applications, emphasizing various optimization techniques for web interaction across desktop, mobile and home entertainment devices. Our approach combines the respective strengths of natural language processing, logic reasoning and scalable processing architectures to leverage the ever increasing amounts of open and real-time data readily available.
By combining the strengths of multiple technologies, the contextual data derived from content fragments can be more complete and insightful than any one technique alone. The result is suitable for many purposes, including search indexing, user profiling, content discovery and matching, as well as the personalization of end-user experience. Although it is still early stage, the application of our technology is having a profound impact on the businesses of our customers. As a result we are rapidly becoming an integral part of their strategies to differentiate online.
Our Infrastructure
The Content Atoms ™ platform provides the foundation for content recommendations through dynamic analysis of information from different origins.
- It is a mashup environment to obtain, cross reference, manipulate & annotate data;
- A set of connectors to information sources such as search engines, web APIs, feeds, databases, Cerebra Server and other Linked Data resources;
- A complement of content processors such as sentiment analysis, entity extraction, text classification, and entity identity resolution;
- A scalable distributed pipeline to process user data and content for profiling, trending and machine learning purposes deployed in the cloud.
- APIs to deliver contextual content and promotions via widgets, in-text pop-ins as well as services to enable content aggregation, recommendation and metadata analysis, packaged up with tracking, reporting and analytic tools.
Semantic Knowledge Repository
The Cerebra Server ™ is a semantics-based knowledge management and inference platform which has been used extensively as metadata, dependency tracking and contextual search foundation. The repository is still being used as a central metadata library for managing Business Process assets within enterprises. The Cerebra Server is an open technology platform based on the W3C Semantic Web standards allowing it to interact readily with current and future Open Data initiatives relevant to each domain.
- In this context, its primary role is to augment content processors with structured background knowledge in relevant domains.
- Stores additional metadata about topics, objects, entities and relationships beyond those available in public.
- Allows inference rules to derive implicit as well as new metadata.
- Contains cross references to other open linked data knowledge repositories.
